Elizabeth.
This sculpture is inspired by the quiet sorrow of Mary and how she is often pictured in a veil, reimagined through the lens of personal loss. The empty form—draped in absent presence—evokes the lingering trace of someone no longer there. In the folds of fabric, I see the body that once animated them, the weight of memory, and the impossibility of letting go. It is about how clothing becomes a vessel for grief, a ghost of intimacy, where the person still seems to live in what they’ve left behind.
